The students are continuing to work through the Powers and Exponents unit. Today they will be practicing the concepts already covered thus far to ensure understanding, which include evaluating powers, and working on questions that deal with the Laws of Exponents.

Students will be writing a short quiz tomorrow to review the concepts we have covered in this unit thus far - powers and exponents, base 10 powers, and scientific notation.
Students are currently working through the Powers and Exponents unit. We have reviewed the parts of a power, expressing and evaluating powers, base 10 powers and scientific notation.
Students created their own visual representation of the Rational Numbers System. They will have one more class to work on rational numbers, then we will move on to our Powers Unit.
Students will write their final test in Number Theory/Rational numbers tomorrow - October 5th. Notes are posted on D2L and students have been provided with review material in class as well. Students are reminded to bring their own calculators for the test.
Students are currently working on using Order of Operations with rational numbers. This is one of the last topics in this unit, so we will be having a Unit Final test sometime this week.
