We are currently working through the Symmetry portion of the Symmetry and Surface are Unit. Students have been given a booklet to generate their class notes, however the supporting booklet and answer key used in class is to stay in class. I have included all three documents on my blog as well as uploaded to D2L.

D2L has been updated with copies of past PAT math exams. Students are encouraged to use these released items to help with review in preparation for their upcoming PAT exam on Monday, June 25th.
Students have completed their study of Solving Linear Equations and Linear Relations. To wrap up these two units, students were given time in class to complete two assessments, both of which dealt with being able to represent information and data in a table of values, graphing the information and creating an equation that shows the relationship of the given data. We are now moving into Geometry. Our new unit is on Symmetry and Surface Area. We are starting with Surface Area. Students will use their knowledge of 3D prisms (area/circumference) to calculate the area of various shapes and objects.
We are continuing to work through our Linear Relations Unit. Students are now completing or creating table of values, and then graphing the information to represent a linear relation. All required notes and assignments will be posted to this blog as well as onto D2L.
I hope everyone had a restful long weekend! We have completed our Inequalities unit, and are moving forward into our Linear Relations unit. Concepts will include:
Today students were introduced to our next unit, Inequalities. It is a natural continuation from our last unit, Solving Linear Equations. Notes and practice sheets have been included in this post, as well as on D2L.
Our week has been altered somewhat. This is the updated plan:
Monday Jan. 29
The following worksheets will provide added practice and review for the upcoming unit test. Students are encouraged to work through the sheets as an additional support for their test prep. The worksheets have also been posted in the 9C D2L shell under Solving Equations.
We are finishing up our unit on Solving Linear Equations. We are planning to have the unit final test on Monday January 29th. The plan for the upcoming week is:
Monday Jan. 22 - continue solving equations containing fractions and decimals Tuesday Jan. 23 - Quiz (concepts covered up to this point) Wednesday Jan. 24 - stations to review concepts Thursday Jan. 25 - review and create study sheets (study sheets can be used during the test) Friday Jan. 26 - PD Day - no classes Monday Jan. 29 - UNIT FINAL TEST |
