Students started looking at how to add integers without using integer tiles. We looked at some examples and the students tried to find some patterns to help determine rules and strategies for adding integers without the tiles.
Practicing basic facts and skills is an important piece to building speed and confidence in math. Here are two websites that have tons of extra practice worksheets. All you need is 10-15 minutes each evening to sharpen your math skills!

Meet the Teacher night will be held in the gym next Thursday, September 21st from 6:30-7:30. We look forward to seeing you there!
The students have been looking at the concept of integers using number lines and thermometers. Number lines are a great tool to represent integers visually, and thermometers are a connection to real life situations. Notes and worksheets used in class are included in this blog, as well as being posted in the 7C Math shell on D2L.

Today we had an introduction to our first unit, Integers. Students used the whiteboards to brainstorm what integers meant to them, then went through a short power point. Students completed notes to practice identifying positive and negative integers in real life situations.
