Students are currently working through our Coordinates and Design unit. We have created a foldable that details the important parts of the Cartesian Plane and practiced plotting points. The students are now working on Transformations. We have covered Translations, and are now moving on to Reflections. Students have been asked to bring a ruler, protractor and compass to class.
Students started their second unit, Coordinates and Design. They were introduced to the Cartesian Plane (coordinate plane) and the components of the coordinate system. Students explored plotting points in their proper place on the Cartesian Plane.
We are just finishing up our Integers unit. Students have finished subtracting integers without tiles and we are working on application and word problems. The unit final test will be at the beginning of next week. A date will be provided before the end of this week.
The grade 7's are now learning how to subtract integers without the use of integer tiles. They are using the "Add the Opposite Rule". Students were working on a worksheet in class today to practice subtracting without tiles.
Please complete the worksheet (if it wasn't completed in class and checked by Mrs. Teasdale) for homework. This should simply be a completion homework assignment. |
